The Windom State Theater was not always the movie theater we know today. Built in 1914, it was first known as the Wonderland Theatre. It wasn't until 1937 that it became known as the State Theater. Likewise, the theater didn't originally show movies. Instead, it hosted Vaudeville performances.
The Windom State Theater is the oldest theater in Minnesota to remain a theater since it was built.
