About
The Worthington Public Utilities Wastewater
Department will begin smoke testing of sanitary
sewer lines in the city on August 17. Testing will
continue for approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
Testing will occur in all areas located west of Diagonal
Road to Cynthia Avenue, Tower Street, Lake Street and
South Lake Street.
Some smoke may enter residences or businesses
through dry plumbing traps and may be avoided by
running water in the traps of floor and shower drains
prior to the above time period. The smoke is visible,
has an odor and is generally harmless. However,
it may in some cases cause respiratory irritation.
Ventilating the area by opening windows will cause
the smoke to dissipate rapidly. Please call 372-8680 if
you observe smoke in your home or business or have
any questions regarding this program.
This testing is being performed as part of an ongoing
program to improve your sanitary sewer service.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
