Wortlingten SPRING CLEAN UP 2022 ANNUAL The City of Worthington will provide for City residential utility customers, an opportunity to dispose of items not normally picked up as a part of the weekly garbage/recycling collection day. This year the pickup service will begin Monday, May 2, 2022. Items may not be placed on the curb until Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Items placed prior to Wednesday, April 27, 2022 will be subject to enforcement action. In a continued effort to encourage use of the weekly garbage/ recycling service, the spring clean up will be completed following the same basic requirements as 2021. Tags will be required and a fee must be paid prior to collection for items listed. The tag must be attached to the item or it will not be collected. Tags can be purchased starting April 25th-April 29th and may be purchased during normal business hours at the following locations: City Hall - front desk - 303 Ninth Street, Public Utilities Office 318 Ninth Street, or Schaap Sanitation located on Highway 59/60 South (recycling center). New tags will not be sold after pickup begins. Tags are non-refundable unused tags may be used for future clean-up. THE REQUIRED FEE WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: De-humidifier, humidifier, water softener, sinks, commodes, bath tubs.. Appliances-stoves, refrigerators, washers/dryers, $11 each $11 each SI1 each $11 each air conditioner, microwaves.. Mattress, box spring, day beds, futon.. Large furniture such as recliner chairs, easy chairs, couches.. Room size rolls of carpet, padding linoleum Electronics-computers, printer, televisions, radios Hot water heater.. 10 ft by 10 ft or larger $11 each S11 each No Charge The cleanup will include items such as lumber, doors, windows, metal/iron, at no charge, but will be limited to a quantity which would fit into a regular pick-up box, (2 foot high. 4 feet wide and 8 feet long). Remember items must be placed in separate piles. Please put loose items in a garbage bag or tie into a bundle to prevent the materials from littering the community. The cleanup will not include such items as recyclable materials, items that would fit in your weekly containers, tires, paint, paint thinners, hazardous, toxic or liquid waste, trees/brush, concrete, batteries, gas, oil, grease, pesticides/ insecticides. IF YOUR ITEM IS NOT PICKED UP, IT IS BECAUSE YOUR ITEMS DID NOT MEET THE GUIDLEINES OR WAS PUT OUT AFTER CITY CREWS HAD COMPLETED PICK UP IN YOUR AREA. CREWS WILL MAKE ONE, AND ONLY ONE, PASS THROUGH THE CITY. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IMMEDIATE REMOVAL OF ANY ITEMS NOT PICKED UP, AND MAY BE SUBJECT TO AN ADMINISTRATIVE FINE WHICH MAY INCLUDE A DISPOSAL FEE IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE ITEMS.
