Dr. Craig E. Newell Education: Dr. Craig E. Newell received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Dakota. He then attended the College of Dentistry at the University of lowa where he re- ceived his dental degree. During his senior year he was selected asthe Outstanding student in Orthodontics. He then completed a residency in Orthodontics and received his Masters Degree in Orthodontics. While in dental school and during his residency he was involved in cleft palate and facial growth research. He completed his master's thesis on an analysis of ideal arch forms in patients with ideal occlusion. communityService: Affiliations: Dr. Newell is a member of the American Dental Association, the lowa Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the Dickinson County Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, the World Federation of Orthodontists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy He is also a charter member of the University GoldOrth odontic Study Club at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Newell served on the Spirit Lake Board of Education for 17years and as president for 6 years. He also served on as a board member on the Lakeland AEA for 5 years. While he was a board member in Spirit Lake, he was responsible for initiating the development of the wind energy which now powers the school's campus. He has been active in numerous other community organiza tions. Personals Dr. Newell and his wife Lynn have three children and five grandchildren that they enjoy spending time visiting.
